**Visible damp patches at the bottom of the wall** Usually visible within the lower 20 to 120 cm, often more pronounced after rainfall.

**Salt efflorescence (white salts)** White crystalline deposits on the wall, a very typical sign of rising damp.

**Peeling paint or plaster**
